Faith over Matter

Hello Bloggers, This is my first blog. I am hoping that you all reach this message and find it as inspiring as I did. I was sitting in church this morning hearing a sermon by the kids Sunday school teacher about sin of course and how it can effect our lives and the people around us, when an old saying came to mind. " Mind over matter". Making the analogy to the concept of what the pastor was telling the congregation and to the children in the front row all wearing plastic, yellow hard hats and sitting on orange construction buckets. The children's church class has a theme based on the popular cartoon of "Bob the Builder". As I was thinking about the saying in my head it struck me that when people think of this saying it means to have self control, but how do we have this without allowing Gods intervention? Simple we cannot, as Christians we are or should be aware that with out God we fall short of true success and yet we wonder why. Why am I not where I think I should be yet, why hasn't God blessed me, or answered my prayers? We tend to wonder aimlessly and begin to worry which then worry turns into doubt. Often we are focused on the issues or the matter of what is impossible for us to fix or achieve. Our youth today also delivered a message about remembering that God is with us, like air just because you cant always hear, smell, taste ,see or feel God doesn't mean he is not there. If we do not take the time to know our lord then how can we experience him? The longer we are away from him the harder it is to know him, we cant hear his voice unless we lean in closer to him.
